Writing
Text Case Converter
Convert a selection to sentence case, title case, upper case, lower case, alternating case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, or kebab-case. Prose modes keep punctuation. Identifier modes keep letters and numbers and drop the rest.
This draft stays in the tab. Opening a file reads it here and does not upload it.
Converted text
How to use it
- Paste the text, or open a text file. It is read in this tab and not uploaded.
- Choose a case. The result updates immediately.
- Copy the result. The original stays in the editor so you can try another case.
Example
the nightly build failed. HELLO, world!
Sentence case capitalizes the first letter of each sentence. camelCase on the same text becomes theNightlyBuildFailedHelloWorld.
Questions
Which locale is used for upper and lower case?
English (United States). Turkish and a few other languages use different mappings for i. If you need those rules, convert in an editor set to that locale.
Does title case lowercase small words?
No. Each word is capitalized. The result is predictable, and it is not an Associated Press headline.
What happens to accents in camelCase?
They stay in the word. caféMenu becomes part of the identifier with the accent intact. Use the slug generator when you want ASCII for a URL.
